We take your privacy seriously - here's the straight talk about how we handle your info

Look, we're a shop that fixes cars - not some tech giant trying to sell your data. But we do collect some basic stuff to run our business properly. Here's what you need to know, without all the legal mumbo-jumbo.

When you bring your ride in or reach out to us, we'll ask for:

  • Your basic details - name, phone number, email. Y'know, so we can actually get in touch when your car's ready.
  • Vehicle info - make, model, VIN, year. Can't diagnose a BMW if we think it's a Honda, right?
  • Service history - what we've worked on before, what issues you've had. Helps us spot patterns and fix things right the first time.
  • Payment details - credit card info gets processed through secure payment systems. We don't actually store your full card numbers on our end.
  • Website stuff - cookies, IP addresses, browser type. Standard web analytics so we know if our site's working properly.

That's pretty much it. We're not asking for your life story or tracking your every move.

Here's what we do with the info you give us:

  • Schedule appointments - kinda obvious, but we need your contact info to book you in.
  • Diagnose and fix your vehicle - your car's history helps us work smarter, not harder.
  • Send service reminders - oil changes, inspections, that sort of thing. Only if you want 'em though.
  • Process payments - gotta get paid somehow. All secure, all above board.
  • Improve our services - we look at what works and what doesn't so we can do better.
  • Comply with legal requirements - sometimes we're required by law to keep certain records. It is what it is.

We're not gonna spam you with junk or sell your details to random companies. That's not how we roll.

We take security pretty seriously around here. After all, nobody wants their info floating around on the internet.

  • Secure payment processing - we use trusted payment processors that meet industry standards.
  • Limited access - only our staff who actually need your info to do their job can see it.

  • Parts suppliers - sometimes we need to order parts specific to your vehicle. They'll get your vehicle info, not your personal stuff.

  • Insurance companies - only if you ask us to provide documentation for a claim.
  • Legal requirements - if we're legally required to disclose info (court orders, government requests, etc.).
  • Business transfers - if we ever sell the shop, your records would transfer to the new owner. But you'd be notified.

That's it. We're not sharing your email with marketing lists or anything sketchy like that.

We don't keep stuff forever - that'd be a mess. Here's the general timeline:

  • Active customer records - as long as you're using our services, plus a few years after your last visit.
  • Service history - typically 7-10 years. It's useful for warranty work and diagnosing recurring issues.
  • Financial records - 7 years, because that's what the tax folks require.
  • Marketing preferences - until you tell us to stop or we haven't heard from you in ages.
  • Website analytics - usually aggregated and anonymized after 26 months.

Once we don't need your info anymore, we delete it securely. We're not gonna be the shop with filing cabinets full of dusty records from the '90s.

Sometimes our website might link to other sites - maybe parts suppliers, manufacturer resources, or tools we recommend.

Here's the thing: once you click those links, you're on their turf. We can't control what they do with your info, and this privacy policy doesn't apply over there.

We try to only link to reputable sites, but it's always smart to check out their privacy policies too if you're sharing any personal info.

Look, things change - new laws get passed, we might add new services, technology evolves. So yeah, we might need to update this policy from time to time.

If we make any big changes, we'll let you know. Probably via email if we've got yours, or we'll post a notice on our website.

The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always show when we last made changes, so you can check back if you're curious.
